At VEP, we believe in the power of events to inspire change, bring communities together, and create lasting memories. That’s exactly what we set out to do when we had the honor of bringing to life the big event vision for the recent Girls Inc. Empower Fest. Held at the beautiful Oakland museum of California with a massive sound stage, the event was a true celebration of the amazing girls and young women supported by Girls Inc.—and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to be part of it!
From start to finish, the day was filled with music, movement, community, and empowerment, all coming together in a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we helped bring this incredible event to life.
Bringing the Vision to Life
Planning an event of this magnitude is no small feat, but when the vision is to uplift and empower women, it’s all worth it. From the moment we were approached by Girls Inc., we knew this event needed to be more than just a typical on-profit fundraiser. It needed to reflect the spirit of the organization—dynamic, bold, and full of energy. Our goal was to create an experience that would not only raise funds but also amplify the message of empowerment that Girls Inc. champions.
The Oakland museum provided the perfect backdrop for mingling, speeches, and video production experiences. Our team worked closely with Girls Inc. to curate the program, select entertainment, and design a layout that would engage attendees.
A Sound Stage That Came to Life
One of the main highlights of the event was the incredible sound stage, which was the heart of the entertainment. We coordinated everything from the lighting to the sound systems to ensure that every performance sounded perfect under the open air. Seeing the stage light up with dynamic speakers and presentations was incredible.
A Seamless Event Experience
While the event itself was full of high-energy moments and inspiring speeches, we also focused on creating a seamless experience for attendees. Plenty of table seating was available and we worked behind the scenes to ensure that every detail was in place for an enjoyable day. Our team was in constant communication with Girls Inc. staff to ensure everything ran smoothly, from the moment guests arrived to the final performance of the day.
Reflecting on the Impact
As event planners, our job is to create memorable experiences—but the true impact of this event came from the incredible community that came together. The energy, joy, and connection we witnessed throughout the day was nothing short of inspiring. Everyone left the event with their heads held high, filled with new ideas, goals, and aspirations
